In 1949 all the private railways were nationalized in the DDR. Track and rolling stock for years were foreign bodies in the DDR German Railway Network. Because of their partially scurrilous loner status these locomotives were known as the locomotive class "6000" The history of routes and rolling stock is described by the authors Ebel, Knipping, Quill and Stange. Statistical material clarifying its long-forgotten history of many "6000" are also illustrated in this wonderful book.
